Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-10-10. These Terms of Service govern your use of ExportSonar (https://exportsonar.com, including its tariff calculator, monitoring dashboards and API).
Who operates ExportSonar
ExportSonar is operated by the ExportSonar team under the brand name ExportSonar. All commercial dealings — subscriptions, invoices, refunds and support — are handled directly by us, with payment processing performed by our merchant of record, Paddle (see “Billing” below). You can reach us any time at support@exportsonar.com.
The service
ExportSonar provides free tools for looking up US Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HS) codes and estimating duties, plus a paid Pro subscription that adds daily rate-change monitoring, watchlists and alerts. All figures shown on the site are informational estimates compiled from public sources such as the USITC Harmonized Tariff Schedule; they are not a binding customs ruling and should be verified against the official schedule before entry.
Digital delivery
Everything ExportSonar sells is delivered digitally and immediately: a Pro subscription activates on the account used at checkout, and API credits become usable as soon as payment clears. Nothing is shipped physically, so there is no shipping delay and no delivery fee.
Billing, renewals and cancellation
- The Pro plan costs $49 per month, billed in advance through our checkout provider Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd), which acts as merchant of record and handles tax collection where applicable.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel at any time — cancellation stops all future charges, and your paid features remain available until the end of the period already paid for.
- Credit packs (e.g. $10 for about 166 API calls at $0.06 per call) are one-time purchases that never auto-renew.
- Our refund terms, including the 14-day money-back guarantee, are described on the Refund Policy page.
Acceptable use
You may use ExportSonar results in your own pricing, quoting and sourcing work. You may not resell, systematically scrape or republish substantial parts of the underlying dataset, or use automated means to access the site beyond the published API limits. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or endanger its availability for others.
Data sources and accuracy
Rates and code descriptions come from official public sources (primarily the USITC Harmonized Tariff Schedule) and are refreshed on a regular schedule. We record the source and build date of every dataset we publish, but we do not guarantee that any figure is current at the moment you read it — customs authorities sometimes change rates retroactively.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ExportSonar disclaims all implied warranties and is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, though you may also pursue refunds through Paddle’s buyer-protection process regardless of where you live.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. Material changes are announced on this page with a revised “last updated” date; continuing to use the service after an update constitutes acceptance.
